Rick and Connie Vrenios are nationally-recognized therapists, authors, speakers, and educators in the field of natural therapies and body-mind-spirit health. They have been practicing and teaching energetic and physical healing modalities together since 1985.
Connie is a 2000 graduate of AAMA Massage School and has advanced training in Reflexology. Rick is a 1992 graduate of the Chicago School of Massage Therapy with advanced training in Neuromuscular Therapy, and they are both Reiki Master/Teachers. Former residents of Hawaii, they have the rare privilege to study the healing arts of Hawaii within two lineages concurrently. They are authorized Practitioners of Traditional Hawaiian Elemental and Spiritual Healing, and Rick is one of only three living teachers worldwide authorized to teach the therapeutic practices of the medical kahuna in this lineage.
They have both written numerous articles and the books, Preventative Care & Maintenance for the Health of Your Practice, and Extraordinary Living Through Chakra Wisdom. With the acclaim for the Chakra Wisdom book, some have called them the leading authorities on the chakra system and the human energy field. Weiser Publishing is releasing a revised Chakra Wisdom book in 2008. They have also published a series of audio CD programs and meditation such as Talking With Angels, Chakra Wisdom Guided Meditation, and others.
Rick and Connie maintain a private practice with clients including major corporations, internationally-renowned healers, medical doctors, world-class dancers, professional athletes, and members of two royal families.
Together, they founded the Reiki Council, a healing and training center and professional association, based in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. They also created the popular Reiki-ssage® System of Healing and the
Reiki-Reflex(tm) System of Reflexology. These systems have received acclaim from
Esquire Magazine, Massage & Bodywork Magazine,
Day Spa Magazine, and Different Strokes, a massage therapy industry newsletter.
In 2005, they expanded the vision of their training center by founding The Sanctuary School of Therapeutic Massage and Energy Medicine. The Sanctuary School has quickly become the nation's premier school offering a true integration of hands-on body therapies with energy medicine approaches.
In demand speakers and teachers, Rick and Connie present as many as 52 programs
each month in their facility and throughout the United States and Europe. They have made appearances on
internet and broadcast Radio and Television programs. Their work has been
featured in the Chicago Tribune, Fox News Chicago, and other major media
outlets.
They have been guest lecturers on energy medicine and mind-body health at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine. They trained the complimentary and alternative medicine department at the Community Hospital of Ottawa in energy-based body therapies, and their reputation for excellence attracts students from across the U.S. and from 16 other countries around the world.
